Google Ads Now Showing Ads at Both Top and Bottom – What It Means for You

Google Ads just made a small but important change. Now, your ad can appear not only at the top of the search results but also at the bottom. This doesn’t mean the same ad will be shown twice in the same way, but you might see a different version from the same advertiser in both spots.

Why did Google do this? They tested it for a few months and found that it actually works better. More relevant ads were shown (about 10% more), and bottom ads got 14% more conversions. That’s a win-win for users and advertisers.

Back on April 14, Google updated its policy to say it’s okay to show ads from the same company in different spots. But this won’t be counted as “double serving,” which used to be a problem before. Google is now focusing more on giving people useful results — whether it’s through ads or normal (organic) search results.

One thing to keep in mind: Advertisers won’t clearly see in reports if their ad showed at both top and bottom. Google suggests checking the “Top vs. Other” report to get some idea of how your ads are doing in different places.

In short, this change means more chances for your ad to be seen and to convert — especially on the lower part of the search page.
