The data isn’t live yet, but it’s coming soon. Just like AI Overviews, AI Mode data will be mixed with other sources, so you won’t be able to tell exactly how much traffic came from AI Mode or how it performed individually.
Google launched AI Mode for all U.S. users last week. Earlier, it was only available in Labs, which is why there was no data shown in Search Console. Now that it's out of Labs, data will start appearing, but still, there won’t be any separate breakout option.
John Mueller (from Google):
Reporting is not live yet.
Data will appear under the "Web" search type in the Performance report.
No separate section or API change is planned.
No exact launch date, but it's expected "soon."
Tracking issues
There was a bug earlier that made AI Mode traffic untrackable, and it’s still not fully resolved. In short, accurate analysis of AI Mode is currently very difficult.
Same goes for ads:
You can’t see the performance of ads shown in AI Overviews or AI Mode separately. Even though ads are now live or being tested in these areas, transparency is still lacking.
Why it matters:
AI Mode is the future of search, but until you can clearly track both organic and paid campaign data, making strategic decisions remains tough. Users want this data to be shown separately, but Google has made it clear that there are no such plans for now.
